All the irony and sarcasm sentences sample data in the novel One of Us is Lying are retained in the target text by using the translation techniques. The techniques are reduction, amplification, literal, transposition, calque, generalization, established equivalent, particularization, compensation, discursive creation, linguistic compression, modulation, borrowing, and variation technique. There are fourteen translation techniques applied in the translation. This research focuses on translation techniques and the form of irony and sarcasm in the target text. The data of this research are irony and sarcasm sentences in the novel. On Monday afternoon, five strangers at Bayview High walk into detention Bronwyn, Addy, Cooper, Nate, and Simon. The objects of the research are the English (source text) and Indonesian (target text) novel of One of Us Is Lying by Karen M. This research aims to find out what are the techniques used by the translator on the irony and sarcasm sentences in the translation novel of One of Us Is Lying and ascertain whether the translation technique used will produce the same form (irony or sarcasm) in the target text.
